What trustworthy AI means
The term trustworthy AI comes from the Ethics Guidelines of the High-Level Expert Group on AI set up by the European Commission and is one of the foundations of the EU AI Act. Trustworthy AI should be lawful, ethical and robust. For industrial companies, this translates into very concrete requirements for architecture and operations.
- •Human oversight: people approve results
- •Technical robustness and safety
- •Privacy and data governance
- •Transparency and traceability
- •Accountability and auditability
Human control through approvals
In OPAIRS, AI delivers answers, forecasts and recommendations that your team approves. Changes to leading systems such as the ERP are only written back after approval. For agentic AI in production, we are developing a controlled environment in which guardrails and approvals are built in.
Traceable data instead of a black box
In OPAIRS, data passes through defined quality and approval stages – from raw data to verified process data to approved decision data. Models only receive context-relevant, approved data. Data lineage and role-based access make data flows traceable and auditable.
Measurable model quality
Trust needs metrics. OPAIRS measures AI like a machine: quality, response time and availability per use case. Domain-specific fine-tuned models are evaluated against concrete test cases before they go into production.
Security and data sovereignty by design
Local operation is the prerequisite for trustworthy AI on sensitive production data: data, vector data, models and workloads stay in your infrastructure, up to air-gapped scenarios. In addition, the OPAIRS SBOM scanner continuously monitors software components for vulnerabilities – one building block for Cyber Resilience Act requirements.
Oriented to the EU AI Act
OPAIRS is developed according to security by design, with security and privacy concepts relevant to the EU AI Act, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and the Cyber Resilience Act. Specific compliance requirements are implemented together with your domain and security officers.
